The Basics on Katharine McLennan, the founder of Mindful Leadership
Katharine has gained her experience in facilitating, leading, teaching and coaching through a variety of corporate assignments over the last 17 years including:

  • Newly appointed Executive Director of the Neuroleadership Institute: www.neuroleadership.org , reponsible for establishing this non-profit organisation designed to teach organisations about the brain by drawing on live and written presentations of some of the world's greatest neuroscientists and leadership development experts

  • Recently qualified psychotherapist, with her two-year diploma from the Jansen Newman Institute

  • Last three years designing and facilitating leadership seminars and executive coaching on behalf of Mettle for some of Australia's largest corporations

  • Previous two years working for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Sydney--creating a new leadership development and transformational change service offering for PwC's major corporate clients

  • 4 years as the key architect and implementer of the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games' operational strategy - - directing the weekly planning activity of over 120 Venue Operations staff for the September 2000 Olympics  (refer to article)  -- since then, have regularly consulted with Athens 2004, Torino 2006, Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010 and London 2012 Olympics on their operational planning processes

  • 4 years working for the management consulting firm, Booz Allen & Hamilton, in Australia in New Zealand, driving corporate growth strategies, business reconstruction and process re-engineering across industries such as health care, banking, telecommunications and logistics

  • Working for the last few years with the YWCA of Sydney to develop their long-term strategy as well as to design and implement a community-based education model for disadvantaged primary school students, high school students and their parents, now a Vice President of their Board

  • Accredited to teach Free-To-Be-Me, a self-empowerment course developed by Barbara and Terry Tebo, taught to thousands of Australians over the last 20 years
